GENERAL PRICE LIST

Effective October 1, 2023

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items your desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

In most areas of the country, state, or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.

This list does not include prices for certain items you may ask us to buy for you, such as cemetery or crematory services, flower and newspaper notices. When funeral home policy allows the funeral director to arrange for those items, the prices for those items will be shown on your bill or statement describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Depending on the item or service purchased, we may charge you for our service in buying these items or be entitled to any volume or cash discounts according to professional / trade customs.

Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, Inc. makes no representations of warranties regarding caskets, outer burial containers, or other funeral goods sold by Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, Inc. The only warranties, expressed or implied, granted in connection with the goods with this funeral service are express written warranties, if any, extended by the manufacturer thereof. No other warranties, expressed or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose, are extended by Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, Inc.

Basic Services of Funeral Director, Staff & Overhead            $2,100.00*                                                                                                                           

Our basic professional service charge includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service; arrangement conference with family or responsible party; preparation and filing of necessary certificates and permits; placement of obituary notices; planning of funeral arrangements; and coordination of service with cemetery, crematory, vault companies; and others as required. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facility such as insurance, maintenance, and utility expenses.

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (A proportionate share of this fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Embalming                                                                             $650.00*

Embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. In any instance, if the deceased is to be housed in our facility for a period exceeding 24 hours, we will require and charge for embalming or refrigeration.

Direct Cremation                                                        $2,500.-8,895.00   The charge for a direct cremation includes transfer of the deceased to the funeral home; necessary authorizations; basic services of staff, crematory fee, a proportionate share of overhead costs. This charge does not include the use of facilities and staff for any visitation or ceremony, public or private, prior to the cremation. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the deceased and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The alternative containers we provide are corrugated boxes.

The charge for immediate burial includes transfer of deceased to the funeral home and shelter of deceased; local transportation to the cemetery; necessary authorizations; and basic services of staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs. This charge does not include embalming, cemetery expenses, or use of facility and staff for any visitation or ceremony, public or private, prior to burial.

Forwarding Deceased to another Funeral Home                       $2,950.00

This charge includes transport of deceased to our funeral home, basic services of staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; embalming; necessary authorizations; minimum shipping container and local transfer to Dayton or Cincinnati airport. This charge does not include visitation, rites, or ceremonies prior to forwarding of the deceased.

Traditional Funeral Service*                                                        $4,800.00 

This charge includes the basic services of funeral director, staff and overhead, transfer of deceased to funeral home, embalming, other preparation of deceased, facilities and staff for visitation, facilities and staff for funeral service and transportation to the cemetery.  (Other merchandise and third-party charges are not included. Casket, print materials, death certificates, cemetery fees, etc.)

Traditional Cremation Funeral with use of Rental Casket         $6,000.00 

This charge includes the basic services of funeral director, staff and overhead, transfer of deceased to funeral home, embalming, other preparation of deceased, use of a rental casket (if your choose a service where a rental casket is used, it may have been used in a previous service. If the casket has been previously used, the interior lining has been replaced), facilities and staff for visitation, facilities and staff for funeral service and crematory fee.  (Other merchandise and third-party charges are not included. Urns, print materials, death certificates, etc.)

Cremation with Memorial Service                                               $3,650.00

The charge for a direct cremation includes transfer of the deceased to the funeral home; crematory fee; necessary authorizations; basic services of staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, an alternative cremation container (the containers we provide are corrugated boxes), and it includes time of gathering for visitation and or a memorial service. (Other merchandise and third-party charges are not included Urns, print materials, death certificates, etc.)

Receiving Deceased from another Funeral Home                     $2,300.00

This charge includes temporary shelter of deceased; basic services of staff; and transfer of deceased to cemetery or crematory. This charge does not include visitation, ceremonies, casket, embalming, or cemetery expenses.

Services for Body Donation                                                         $795.00

This charge includes basic services of staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs and transfer of deceased to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. This charge does not include visitation, ceremonies, casket, embalming, or cemetery expenses.New paragraph
