William Michael Woodward

William Michael "Woody" Woodward, 59, of Monroe, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Christ Hospital. He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on August 10, 1950 to parents Edward and Ida Mae Woodward.

Woody worked in Electrical Maintenance & Control in the Hot Strip Mill at AK Steel for 37 years, retiring in 2006. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, member of American Legion Post 888 Delaware, Ohio and formerly a member of the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Woodward is survived by his wife, Theresa (Neu) Woodward; son, William Michael Woodward II; daughters, Sarah (Matthew) Waits and Katie Jo Woodward; and sister, Phyllis (Paul) Sadler.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 330 Lebanon Street, Monroe with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to PKD Foundation, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 400, Kansas City, Kansas, 64114-336.
