Luther Ray Harmon

July 25, 1941 — March 17, 2011

Luther Ray Harmon, 69, of Gratis Township went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 17, 2011. He was born on July 25, 1941 at Christ Hospital to his parents Laura Bell and John Harmon. He had 7 siblings, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He grew up and was raised in the Middletown area and graduated from Monroe High School.
Mr. Harmon was preceded in death by his parents Belle and John Harmon, brothers Carl and John, daughter- in-law Tammy Harmon.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Debbra, daughter Vickie, son Daron, son-in-law Scott, granddaughters Megan, Kayla, and Valerie, brother Charles(Patsy), sisters Barbara (Don) Earley, Rosie (Bob) Caron, Marian (Ron) McGuire and Nancy (Larry) Wagner, 15 nieces and 7 nephews.
Luther faithfully attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church, he was known throughout the Edgewood Community. He lived a full life that left no room for regrets and there was truly never a dull moment with him around. He touched many lives and was loved by his family, friends and community. If his granddaughters were involved in a sporting event or school function, he didn't miss it. While he was a grandparent to his three granddaughters , he was like a grandparent to many of their teammates and classmates, all while leaving no missed or bad call unnoticed, and the officials were certainly aware of his presence. He always greeted his granddaughters after with a kind word, or teasing and a smile. Many stories were shared and great times were had laughing with friends and neighbors.
We all are truly blessed to have been a part of his life and he certainly shaped us all one way or another. While we will celebrate his life, we will also have a piece of us that will always feel lost in our loss of a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend. Our lives have been forever touched by his presence but never forgotten.
Visitation will be Monday March 21 from 5-8 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 212 S. Broad St. Middletown, Ohio 45044. Funeral Services will be Tuesday March 22 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Michelle Terry officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
