James Douglas Hayes

James Douglas Hayes, 74, of Monroe, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Hamilton on July 22, 1939 to parents Russell B. and Ethelene (Brock) Hayes. Jim was a graduate of Monroe High School Class of 1957. He retired as the manager of manufacturing at Black Clawson after 38 years and served on the Board of Directors of the Black Clawson Credit Union. He served his country in the United States Navy, was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was an avid golfer. Mr. & Mrs. Hayes were married on August 15, 1970, and this August would have been their forty third anniversary. Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Joyce (Hackney) Hayes; sister, Beverly (Daniel) Younkins; nephew, Jonathan "Hawk" Hayes Younkins; niece, Leslie Paige (Christopher Mroczka) Younkins; special nephew, Jordan Landsaw; and many more loving family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Hayes.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 3023 N. Union Rd., with Pastor Max Fernandez officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Private entombment will be at the convenience of the family.
