Randall E. "Randy" Koontz, 74, of Hamilton, passed away on November 20, 2025 at his home surrounded in love. He was born on October 11, 1951 in Hamilton, OH to Donald and Dorothy (Puckett) Koontz.
Randy graduated from Seven Mile High School in 1969 and attended Ohio University where he met the love of his life, Bonnie.
He was a self-employed Fuel Oil Distributor for 37 years. He was well-known for his strong work ethic and his loyalty to those he served. He retired from Harvest Land after seven years of service. He was a member of Jacksonburg United Methodist Church, serving as Trustee Chairman for many years and known for the lemon drop candy he always had. Throughout retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, attending his grandchildren’s many activities and farming on the side. He had an uncanny ability to navigate the roads; the man was a walking GPS.
Randy is remembered as a strong-willed, deeply reliable and faithful man. He was fiercely devoted to whatever work or passion he found. He could always be counted on, and his hard-working hands left a mark on everyone who knew him.
Randy is survived by his wife of 52-years, Bonnie (Bockel) Koontz; daughter, Jayme (Chris) Beyer; son, Donnie (Ashley) Koontz; sisters, Susan Jankoski, Julia (John) Green, Jayne (Jim) Prushing, Dawn (Gina) Koontz and Lori Koontz, and Pap to Lauren, Lindsay, Lydia and LeaAnn Beyer, Elle and Carson Koontz.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ray Jankoski
