Michael Moran Sharp, a proud U.S. Navy veteran and beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Tuesday May 27, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on July 26, 1955, Michael lived a life defined by service, love and unwavering devotion to his family.
Michael lived by the values of discipline, loyalty and duty while instilling these values in his children and their children. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, quiet strength, continuous shenanigans and his deep love for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Kathy (Dehart) Sharp, who stood by his side with enduring love and support. He is also survived by his siblings, Susan (Rodney) Doucett, Theresa (Frank) Rye, Tina (Scott) Stewart, and Austin Sharp and by his children, Christina (Matt) Tarbert, Karen (Michael) Lintz, Michelle (Robbie Lamb) Sharp, Michael (Betty Fahey) Laursen, Kacey (Johnny) King, Ginger (David) Griffith, Gary Brashear Jr. and Desi (Pete) Durkin. Michael was a proud grandfather to an “army” of grandchildren and an ever-growing "squadron " of great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and joy to his life.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Austin "Rod" (Cassie) Sharp, Pauline (Raymond) Welsh, and his sisters, Patricia Sharp and Carolyn Riley.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A man of few words but deep convictions, Michael leaves behind a family strengthened by his guidance, inspired by his resilience, and comforted by memories of his never ending humor and steadfast love.
Michael’s life was one of service, sacrifice, and love. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery & Arboretum with military honors presented by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
