Marjorie Forrester

January 20, 1941 — September 15, 2025

Franklin, Ohio

Marjorie "Marge" (Angus) Forrester, 84, of Franklin, transitioned from her earthly life to her eternal reward on Monday, September 15 surrounded by her loving family.

Marge was born January 20, 1941, to parents John and Anna (Schoenberger) Angus in Queens, NY. She met the love of her life, Mike, at the Ozone Park Community Methodist Church, where they married in 1962. Their union lasted nearly 63 years and they welcomed three children, Jane, Michael and John.

Upon settling in Middletown, Marge worked for Middletown Federal Savings & Loan and found a passion for financial planning. In 1984, she joined IDS/American Express (now Ameriprise Financial) as a certified financial planner. A born trailblazer, she was one of the first women locally in the industry and won several awards for her work. She enjoyed her career and her clients so much that she continued working for 30 years, retiring at the age of 75. Marge was also very civic minded and enjoyed being involved in community groups. She was one of the founding members of the Madison Community Festival benefiting the Madison Local School District in the early 1980s. She loved to sing and was a past member of the Diamond Jubilee chorus of the Sweet Adelines. She also enjoyed crocheting and gifted many of us with afghans over the years. Most importantly, Marge was of strong faith and was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord and loved serving Him. She particularly found her passion of serving others through different missions at the church and through singing in the choir. Her unwavering faith in the Lord assures us that she has a new home in heaven and has been made whole again. To this she would say, "TA-DA!" We are so grateful for her example of Christ to us.

In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her husband Mike; her sister and brother-in-law, June and Bernard Eble; brother and sister-in-law, John and Muriel Angus, sister-in-law Claudia Angus; niece, Debbie Angus, father and mother-in-law, Bill and Elaine Forrester; sister-in-law, Janice Hizer; and nephew, Wayne Hizer.

Marge is survived and will be greatly missed by daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Tom Tipton; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Amber Forrester; son and daughter-in-law, John and Marcia Forrester. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Chris (Larry Smith) Forrester, Brooke (John) McGuire, Ashlee (Phil Goedde) Forrester, Tommy Tipton, Amanda (Matt Sampson) Patterson, Ashley Patterson, Seldon (Katy) Patterson; 9 great-grandchildren, Hank, Will, Cairo, Diamond, Jadon, Jazmyn, Avery, Jensen, Josiah; her brother, Richard Angus, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jackie and Doug Ohlmansiek and many other loving nieces, nephews and family members.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, September 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Marshall Rd., Middletown with Pastor Fred Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be done privately.

The family would like to thank all her caregivers at Bickford Senior Living who lovingly cared for her. At the risk of forgetting to name someone, we thank all of you so very much but do want to mention a special thank you to Tara, Antea, Kendrah, Beth, Amy, Sherry and Amanda and especially Anaya, who Mom loved so much. Additionally, thank you to DayCity Hospice, Dani and Zenobia, you are such a blessing. Not only did you care for Mom, but you cared for us and we are so grateful for all of you.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Marshall Rd. Middletown, OH 45044 or to DayCity Hospice, 7601 Paragon Rd. Dayton, OH 45459.
