Marilyn Vanlandingham

Marilyn Vanlandingham, 81, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Middletown on March 19, 1944 to parents, Thurston Forrest and Emma Elizabeth (Moore) Shockey.

Marilyn had a special place in her heart for children and that was evident in her 56 year career as a pre-school teacher with Chautauqua Schools.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, George Vanlandingham; daughter, Amy Day; son, Mark (Jackie) Vanlandingham; sister, Connie (Melvin) Yeakle; and the lights of her life, her 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Clint, Mick & Sam Shockey.

A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
