Kathleen L. "Kay" Hackett, of Cincinnati, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was born in Hudson, Michigan on November 15, 1947 to parents Lawrence and Joyce (Frost) Hackett.
Kay graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School in 1965, received her bachelor's degree in education from Edgecliff College in 1969 and later, earned a master's degree in education from Xavier University. She taught 3rd & 4th grades in the Cincinnati Public Schools for 36 years, retiring in 2005. She loved her family and Notre Dame football, Xavier basketball and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Kay is survived by her siblings, Barb (Joe) Dineen, Terry (Kathy) Hackett, Colleen (Alan) Hannah, Tom (Patti) Hackett and Sue (Steve) Reiner; 11 nieces & nephews; and 22 great nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Jonathan Hannah; and great nephew, Griffin Dineen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - St. John Church, 1405 First Ave., Middletown, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum.
