Joseph R. Rukavina

Joseph R. Rukavina 76, of Middletown, died on January, 10, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 30th, 1949, in Middletown, Ohio to Joseph F. Rukavina and Geraldine (Mayes) Rukavina.

He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Cox, September 19th, 1970. They had three kids together.

Joseph worked for Armco Steel/ AK Steel from June of 1968 until his retirement in 1998. He worked in East Processing, Labor Reserve, the BOF, and the Energy Department over the Water Works division. Joe then worked for Fred B. DeBra as a supervisor over the Water Works division until retiring a final time in 2004.

Joseph is survived by his children; Danielle Bowers, Aaron (Paula) Rukavina, Summer (Josh) Shaffer, grandchildren; Michael (Sarah) Bowers, Matt (Grace Waltz) Bowers, Ruthie Rukavina, and Jackie Rukavina , great grandchildren; River Bowers, Rylie Bowers, and one on the way, and his siblings Steve Collins, and Carolyn McNamara.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, January 24 from 12:00-3:00pm at Enterprise Baptist Church, 405 Gideon Road, Middletown, OH 45044.
