John E. Dunn

John Edward Dunn, 56, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix after a brief illness. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on December 21, 1955 to parents James Edward and Glenna (Back) Dunn.

John graduated from Middletown High School in 1974. He loved camping in the mountains, sand railing & his greatest love was playing his drums. He worked for the Cartwright School system with many great friends whom he considered family.

John is survived by his mother; daughters, Christie Dunn, Kellie (Jeremy) Katz of Florida & Cody Dunn of Middletown; four grandchildren, Shekiyah, Zahir, Khamani & Xavion; sister, DeeDee; brothers, Rick & Phil; step grandmother, Maxine (Bill) Robinson of Cridersville, OH; uncle, Neil (Connie) Back & James (Jo) Back of Middletown; aunts, Wanda Wills of Trenton & JoAnn Cooper of KY; his two precious dogs, Brittany & Roxy; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Jolly & Esther Back; and paternal grandparents, Howard & Zetta Dunn.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Dr. Roger Green officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
