Jerome "Jake" Clark

Jerome "Jake" Anthony Clark, 82, formerly of Middletown, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, where he and Marjorie had recently moved. He was born in Middletown on July 20, 1943, one of three sons to parents, John Thomas and Pauline (Himes) Clark.


Jake was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School. Inducted into the Fenwick Hall of Fame in 2006, Jake was a key member of Fenwick's first District Championship basketball team and helped lead them to the regional finals in the Ohio State tournament. A standout multi-sport athlete and multiple-time Southwestern Ohio League selection, he continued his basketball career after high school at Lamar College. He had worked for Armco/AK Steel both in the mill and in the Union Hall. Jake proudly served his country in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 218. He was also a devoted member of Holy Family Parish - St. John Church.


Above all, Jake loved his family and will be greatly missed by his wife, Marjorie (Rednour) Clark; children, Adrienne Todd & John Clark and their mother, Margaret Amburgey; daughters, Tammy (Rex) Combs & Anne (Dwayne) Mayer; grandchildren, Kennedy, Riane, Lincoln, Marley, Deacon, Donald, Amber, Ashley, Max, Samantha, Casey & Cody; 14 great grandchildren; as well as many other loving family & friends.


In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard "Dick" Clark and John "Jack" Clark.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Sept 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - St. John Church, 1405 First Ave, Middletown, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, Sept 3, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum, with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.


Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 218, 116 S. Main St., Middletown, OH 45044.
