Jack Edward Tirey, 97, of Middletown, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Meadowbrook Care Center. He was born in Middletown on December 11, 1925 to parents, Edward and Annalee (Morrison) Tirey.
Jack worked as a contractor and entrepreneur in the construction industry. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving during World War II.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Jackie Tirey & Becky (Chris) Cornella; son, Marc (Kathy) Tirey; five grandchildren, Adam Tirey, Brian (Sarah) Tirey, Katie (Colt) Shape, Joe Cornella & Sarah Cornella; eight great grandchildren, Sierra, Sydney, Ellen, Hazel, Lucy, Izzy, Chloe & Richard; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie (Pennington) Tirey; parents; brothers, Bob & Bill Tirey; and sisters, Gurtice Schaeffer, Mildred Mahring & Shirley Dillard.
Funeral Service will be Friday, July 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Bill Browning officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
Everyone is welcome to come to the Woodside Community Room for a reception and refreshments following the committal service.
