Emily Loretta Jackson, 88, of Trenton, passed away and went to her Heavenly home on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born in Jackson, Kentucky on February 27, 1937, the second oldest of 12 children born to parents, Chad and Nan Lou (Palmer) Haddix.
Emily was tasked early in life with taking care of her twin brothers, who were born very ill and died before six months of age. She dedicated her early life to taking care of her large family full of brothers, with no other girls to help her with the cooking and cleaning. She continued this self-sacrifice with her own children, always making sure they had plenty to eat, clean clothes to wear and instilling a strong work ethic in them. She also took in many of her brothers-in-law to aid in their transition from life in the hills of Kentucky to working in the factories around Middletown, making sure they felt welcome and had a warm bed as they started their new life. She was a woman of faith and made sure her children attended church, putting them on the bus on Sunday mornings so they could learn what she already knew, to be kind to people and to honor God by always giving praise and glory to Him. She was a strong woman who neighbors, relatives and friends would seek counsel from when going through troubled times. Emily loved to travel with her family, as well as simply being together for holidays and birthdays. She had a life-long love of hummingbirds and enjoyed them both in nature and in artwork. Emily also had a fun, competitive side and there was nothing she enjoyed more than playing Yahtzee and card games with her family, as well as going once a week to play Keno bingo with them.
Emily loved her family with her whole heart and she will be greatly missed by her sons, Rick (Diana) Gross & Michael (Priscilla) Gross; daughters, Kathy (Mark Wilson) Ross & Debbie (Barry) Isaacs; grandchildren, April Gross, Ricky Gross, Jason (Jess Swango) Ross, Andrew (Ashley) Ross, Scott (Kristen) Ross, Brandon (Vanessa) Lucus, Kyle (Rande) Gross & Emily (Adam) Gresham; great grandchildren, Simon Garitson, Neil Lester, Audrey Bishop, Bailee Swango, Phoenix Ross, Easton Ross, Jordan Rowe, Aiden Rowe, Chase Rowe & Jasper Lucus; great-great granddaughter, Opal Swango; and many other loving extended family & friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Haddix; brothers, Gardner, Kenneth, William, Silas, Bobby, David, Clint, James, (twins) Donnie & Lonnie; and grandsons, Caleb Ross & Shawn Rowe.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
