Charles C. Grubb

Charles Cecil "Chuck" Grubb, 78, of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at River Oaks Alzheimer's Care in Miamisburg.  He was born in Middletown on February 9, 1945 to parents, Cecil and Mildred (Birch) Grubb.

Chuck graduated from Middletown High School in 1963 and then served in the United States Air Force in Turkey and Taiwan during the Vietnam War. Chuck retired from Armco Steel in 1999, where he was in electrical maintenance at the Basic Oxygen Furnace for over 30 years. After he retired from there he worked as assistant manager of Woodcraft in Fairfield and for 10 years in the Fly Fishing Shop of Bass Pro Shop. He then was a mail courier for the Butler County Clerk of Courts.  He was on the National Ski Patrol for 20 years and was among the members named National Ski Patrol of the year.  Chuck coached youth soccer in Trenton for 10 years and served as soccer official in youth and high school games. He coached and was assistant coach of Edgewood High School Boys Soccer for 8 years.

Chuck excelled in everything he tried and took great pride and joy in it.  He loved snow skiing, wood working, fly fishing, fly tying, following OSU football, camping and photography.

Most of all, Chuck loved his family and will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Deborah L. (Soule) Grubb; sons, Todd (Jenny) Grubb & Chad (Tricia) Grubb; grandchildren, Devin Grubb, Taylor Grubb, Henry Grubb, Mallory Grubb, Megan Bishop & Morgan Bishop; sisters, Bette Ruth Delcorps & Dollie Corwin; brother, Ritch Grubb; and many nieces, nephews & cousins. 

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, William Grubb. 

Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment  will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. To honor Chuck, please wear your Ohio State gear.
