Barbara (Barb) A. Birckbichler, age 76, of Franklin Township passed away Thursday morning at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties with her husband at her side. Barbara was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 8, 1949, the daughter of Gene and Marjorie (Woodfield) Blake.
Barb graduated from Kiser High School in 1967 and attended Wright State University majoring in Art. She worked as an insurance salesperson selling medical insurance supplements to the elderly. She was a lifelong Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns fan.
She married Joseph Birckbichler on June 22, 2008. In addition to her husband, Barb is survived by a daughter, Wendy (Hoskins) Rigsby of Dayton, a granddaughter, Kylie Bowen of Dayton, and four great-grandsons, Santana, Antonio, Tyson and Shakur. She is also survived by two brothers, Mike (Rose) Blake of Dayton and Steve (Chiquita) Blake of Russellville, TN. Preceding her in death were a sister, Susie (Blake) Bucholtz and a brother, Phil Blake.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
Services for Barbara Birckbichler will be held Wednesday, February 4, at the Wilson, Schramm, Spaulding Funeral Home in Middletown. Visiting hours are 12 to 1 followed by a short service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery in Middletown.
