Amelia A. Swartzbaugh

Amelia Ann Swartzbaugh, 70, of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on July 28, 1955.

Amelia was a graduate of Lemon-Monroe High School, Class of 1973. She worked in the IT department at AK Steel. Amelia was past president of the Middletown Optimist Club and served as an EMT with the Village of Gratis Emergency Medical Services for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and was active in the local knitting guild.

Amelia is survived by her husband, Tom Swartzbaugh; sons, Tim Swartzbaugh & James (Kat Berberich) Swartzbaugh; her mother, Nancy (Newman) Buffenbarger; sister, Andrea (Kevin) Wills; brother, Ben (Kim) Buffenbarger; and the light of her life, her granddaughter, Lily.

She was preceded in death by her father, John "Jack" Buffenbarger.

A Memorial Gathering of family & friends will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm in the reception room at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown.
