Vera E. Shaffer

Vera E. Shaffer, 98, of Middletown, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at The Woodlands of Middletown. She was born in Middletown on December 2, 1913 to parents Lee Edward and Emma (Baush) Turner.

Vera worked as an executive secretary at Armco Steel Corp. for 42 years, retiring in 1978.

Mrs. Shaffer is survived by her nephew, Donald L. Turner & niece, Linda L. Frankson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Shaffer in 1977; parents; sister, Mildred Beacom; and brother, Donald W. Turner.

Graveside service will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Woodside Cemetery (Section 20), 1401 Woodside Blvd., Middletown with Chaplain Chuck Healy officiating.
