Tyburtius Lerch

Bert Lerch, 86, of Monroe, died November 7, 2002 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born in Canton, Ohio on March 13, 1916 to parents Homer and Clara (Obringer) Lerch.

He was an administrator for the Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village from 1968 until he retired in 1980. Mr. Lerch was a member of the Highpoint Lodge #773 F & AM, a 32nd degree Mason Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, a Kentucky Colonel, a former president of the Middletown Sertoma Club and a former chairman of the Board of Trustees of the North Monroe Cemetery.

Bert was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dora (Bogner) Lerch on November 23, 2001, his parents, brother Harry Lerch, and sisters Dorothea Zink and Martha Brown.

He is survived by two daughter, Jean Gaw of Middletown and Jane (John) Lech of Cincinnati; two sons, Thomas (Betty) Lerch fo Monroe, and Charles (Caroline) Lerch of Middletown; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family with Rev. Stan Gockel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Life Care Fund, 1001 Kingsmill Parkway, Columbus, OH 43229 - OR- the Monroe Fire Department, P.O. Box 117, Monroe, OH 45050.
