Sandra A. Mcdonell

Sandra A. McDonell, 79, of Trenton, died Sunday, November 1, 2015, surrounded by her 9 children & sister. She was born in Middletown on October 14, 1936 to parents Frank and Hazel (Stout) Achberger.

Sandra had worked as an executive secretary for Armco International for 3 years. She then became a full time mom for her 9 children and was involved in various school activities at Edgewood, including band & many sports. She served 2 terms on City Council in Trenton and was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

Mrs. McDonell is survived by her sons, Michael (Carol) McDonell, Kevin (Stephanie) McDonell, Sean (Anne) McDonell, Patrick (Tara) McDonell & Brian (Christa) McDonell; daughters, Karen (George) Rolfe, Kathy McDonell, Colleen (Brad) Johansen & MaryAnn (Dan) Harner; sister, Antoinette (Walter) Luker; and 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald McDonell; parents; brother, Don Achberger; and sister, MaryAnn Achberger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave., Trenton with Father Stephen Lattner, OSB as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
