Robert B. Croake, 75, of Madison Township, Ohio, died Sunday, February 8, 2004, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 25, 1928 to parents William and Hilda (Dell) Croake.

Mr. Croake was a 1946 graduate of Middletown High School. He went on to attend Ohio University School of Banking in 1955, and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking in 1959. He worked as Executive Vice President of First National Bank of Middletown until November 1948 and was Vice President of First National Bank of Southwest Ohio until his retirement in March 1993. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Bob was an instructor at Kent State University and the American Institute of Banking. His past activities include president of the Middletown Chamber of Commerce 1976-1978, former director and vice-president of Junior Achievement, director of Arts In Middletown, director of Butler County Heart Association, director of Doty House, treasurer of the Bi-Centennial Committee, board member of the Middletown Hospital Foundation, Crusade Chairman for the American Cancer Society 1969-1971, and general chairman of the City of Middletown Charter Review Committee in 1972. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he was president of the Men´s Club in 1966, a member of Jefferson Lodge #90 F & AM, and a member of Brown´s Run Country Club.

Mr. Croake is survived by his three children, Candy (Jeff) Heffner, Michael R. Croake, and Stephen B. (Carol) Croake, all of Middletown; one sister, Lela H. Anderson of Middletown; three grandchildren, Tricia K. (Jon) Croake-Uleman, Robert M. (Beth) Croake, and Daniel J. Croake; and six great grandchildren, Lauren M Schramm, Samantha Croake-Uleman, Cameron Croake-Uleman, Connor Croake, Zachary Croake, and Maxwell Croake.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia L. Croake in February 1999; his parents; and brothers, William D. Croake, and Thomas M. Croake.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 12, 2004 from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., at Bonita Dr. Funeral Services will be private. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
