Raymond Floyd Williams

July 23, 1927 — December 31, 2018

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is
laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at
that day.”
Ray, age 91, crossed over to receive his crown very early Monday morning, December 31. He
had, indeed, fought a good fight, serving both his Lord and the church for over 60 years. He is
pre-deceased by his wife of 64 years, Twyla Marie Baker Williams. Together, they had four
children RT (Leah) Williams, Brad (Lorie) Williams, Michelle Donders, and Curtis (Cindy)
Williams. They also have 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Ray was a unique mixture of electrical engineer, sales representative and musician. He
graduated from the University of Michigan where he proudly marched in the Wolverine
Marching Band and worked his entire professional career with the Detroit Edison Company,
from which he retired. They then moved to Pt St Lucie, FL. He served as Musical Director in
churches in the East Michigan District of the Church of the Nazarene. He also served on several
district, church, ministry, and community boards in both the Nazarene and Friends churches.
He was a devout chocoholic, much to the dismay of his wife who was a Baker in both name and
talent. In fact, it was a search for Twyla’s hidden chocolate that precipitated their move to
Otterbein Senior Living where they lived until their heavenly graduations.
A memorial service will be held in Michigan where they will be buried next to each other. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in the name of both Ray and Twyla
Williams be made to Otterbein Senior Living, 580 N, OH-741, Lebanon, OH 45036.
