Naomi Ruth Geckeler

Naomi Ruth (Rusche) Geckeler, 86, of Wayne Township, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Hawthorn Glen Senior Living Campus. She was born in Middletown on July 5, 1923 to parents Mark Henry and Inez Marie (Day) Rusche.

Mrs. Geckeler worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton for 26 years, retiring in 1985 as a nurse anesthetist. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and was active in many varied charity activities.

Mrs. Geckeler is survived by her children, David Michael Geckeler, Anne Marie Robbins and Christina Elaine Jackson; brothers, Donald Richard Rusche and David Bernard Rusche; six grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Robert Geckeler in 1996; her parents; and sisters, Esther Grace Rusche Cruse and Mary Elizabeth Loeber.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 10:00 am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave., Trenton with Father George Klein as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
