Mildred Babe Burk

Mildred F. "Babe" Burk, 90, of Madison Township, died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at her residence. She was born in Middletown on October 4, 1920 to parents Sidney N. and Rose (Wetzel) Cape.

Mildred worked as a secretary at Oneida School for 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Butler County Retired Teacher's Association, Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church and the Ladies Society.

Mrs. Burk is survived by her daughter, Dr. Stephanie Burk, her husband, Keith C. Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick E. Burk in 1990; her parents; brothers, Edward L. Cape and Robert S. Cape; sister, Virginia German; and beloved sister-in-law, Catherine Burk.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
