Mary M. Noble

February 2, 1918 — October 12, 2013

Mary M. (Fisher) Noble, 95, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2013 at Hawthorne Glen. She was born February 2, 1918 to immigrant parents of Austria-Hungary decent, Joseph and Anna (Slimak) Fisher. Her birthday being on Groundhogs Day was always a source of teasing. She had to stay indoors so she wouldn't see her shadow. Mary was active in the schools PTA's "Ways and Means" activities as chairperson for lawn fetes, bake sales or any means to bring the community together for the school. She was past President of OAPSI, the union for cafeteria workers and attended conventions in Columbus to represent her chapter. Mary was an active Girl Scout leader and also enjoyed league bowling. After retirement of 25 years as cafeteria manager for the Middletown City School System, they bought a motorhome and toured the lower 48 states with family. She was fondly called our chief cook and bottle washer. Mary was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. John's Church and volunteered at many activities in her youth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Noble, parents Joseph and Anna Slimak Fisher, a sister Amelia Schmidt, brothers Frank, Joseph, Paul and John Fisher and great-grandson Will Thurston.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Carl) Theiss, granddaughter Mary (Skip) Grey and great-grandson Jacob Paul Thurston.
A graveside funeral service will be Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Woodside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties 5940 Long Meadow Dr. Franklin, OH 45005.
