Marjorie A. Compton

Marjorie A. Compton, 77, of Middletown, died Monday, September 9, 2002 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village in Monroe. She was born in Middletown on January 16, 1925 to the late Harry L. and Cecilia (Mulford) Compton.

Ms. Compton worked as a secretary/receptionist for Armco Steel Corp. for 25 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was formerly a member of the American Association of University Women, the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, Middletown Regional Hospital Auxiliary, and PROMISES. Marjorie had a genuine interest in music, her church, and community activities.

She is survived by her cousin Kathryn Malek of Atlanta, Georgia as well as several other cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2002 at First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Ave., Middletown, at 11:00 AM with Reverend Tom Ramsey officiating. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
