Margaret Mary Cosimati

February 3, 1932 — January 18, 2022

Margaret M. Cosimati passed away Jan. 18, 2022, at the age of 89. She was born Feb. 3, 1932, to parents Josephine and Vincenzo Cosimati. She resided at St. Leonard in Centerville, Ohio. Margaret graduated from the University of Dayton and then went into the Lay Ministry. Margaret taught elementary school all of her adult life, helping to change and enhance the lives of many students. After her retirement, she continued to share her passion for teaching, tutoring adults with disabilities.

She was very active in the Church of the Incarnation in Centerville. She was a Eucharist minister, administering to homebound people and nursing home residents. She was involved in her church’s Bible Study and the Cursillo Movement.

In her retirement, Margaret enjoyed working fulltime at the St. Mark Bookshop in Centerville. Her coworkers became lifelong friends and Margaret considered them members of her family.

Margaret exemplified a spirit of generosity and was very philanthropic, giving not only the Catholic Church, but numerous organizations, locally and globally.

She is predeceased by her brother, James Cosimati, and sisters, Lucille Amatulli, and Jeanette Christmann. She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Her group of friends was remarkable and included teachers, condo neighbors, church, college, and lay ministry colleagues, and many, many more. She led a full life because of her dedicated friends and loving family. Special thanks to those friends who helped Margaret in immeasurable ways. Their unwavering support allowed Margaret to live a meaningful life. Margaret’s family thanks all of her friends and sends you God’s blessings.

Due to Covid, a celebration of Margaret’s life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margaret’s memory to the charity of your choice.
