Kenneth E. Young, 77, of Middletown, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Middletown on June 10, 1928 to parents Emery and Beatrice V. (Pearce) Young. He married Patricia Ann Hall on June 10, 1950 in Middletown.
Kenneth worked as an assistant supervisor for the City of Middletown Public Works Department, retiring in 1983. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War with the 1703rd Transportation Group at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile Alabama. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 218 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3809, and he was a fifty year member of the Fraternal Order of The Eagles Aerie #528. He served as general parade advisor for the Middletown Memorial Day Association for many years, until 2003.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Hall) Young; five daughters, Suzanne L. (David) Gibbs of Franklin, Debra A. (Michael Lee) Morrison, Jane E. (Charles) Gibson, Beverly J. (Donnie) Reynolds, and Jennifer E. (David L.) Morgan, all of Middletown; two sons, Jeffery A. Young and Thomas R. (Becky) Young, also of Middletown; twelve grandchildren, David Gibbs, Christopher (Amanda) Gibbs, Michelle Morrison, Michael J. Morrison, Donnie J. Reynolds, Angela Reynolds, Nicholas Reynolds, Phillip S. Young, Kenneth Gibson, Renee Gibson, Nicole Young Stowe, and Jeffery Young; and three great grandsons, Michael Stowe, Jacob Stowe, and Brandon Gibbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bernadine Corrill; and brothers, Bernard W. and George T. Young.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 12, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Woodside Cemetery Chapel, with Reverend Gene Leiter officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
