Kay Carolyn Heyda

Kay Carolyn Heyda, 69, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Hospice of Hamilton, surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born in Strong Hope, Mississippi on March 9, 1940 to parents Percy and Beatrice (Chadwick) Dungan.

Kay graduated from Crystal Springs High School in Crystal Springs, Mississippi in 1958 and from Miami University with a degree in Sociology in 1991. She was employed as a case worker for United Youth of Dayton. She loved gardening, applying her considerable talents as a counselor and social worker to helping family members and her many friends through often daunting challenges and difficulties, and assembling her special "care packages" for her children and grandchildren and for friends in need.

Mrs. Heyda is survived by her husband, John F. Heyda; two sons, Randall Miller of Hazlehurst, MS and Kenneth Findlay Lynch of Franklin; three daughters, Kelly Ann Brommer of Memphis, TN, Sandra Kay Lynch and Kendra Lee Lynch, both of Middletown; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Max (Glenda) Dungan of Middletown; and sister, Gail (Jerry) Atwood of Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by the children's fathers, Gerald Miller and Kenneth Lynch.

She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Tia Rose Lynch.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 10:30 am at Berachah Baptist Church, 1914 First Ave., Middletown with Pastor Lamar Ferrell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
