Joyce I. Luksic

Joyce I. Luksic, 71, of Monroe died Saturday May 31, 2003 at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born February 10, 1932 in Branch Hill, Ohio to parents Dennis and Beatrice (Taulton) Wooddell.

Joyce was a 1950 graduate of Monroe High School. She was an avid card player, a member of the Middletown Women’s Bowling Association, and loved watching sports. She retired from the Middletown Board of Education after serving 10 years as an occupational aide.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles L. Luksic, three sons: Chuck A. (Barbara) Luksic of Middletown, Denny (Sandy) Luksic of Middletown, and Larry Luksic of Monroe, and a daughter, Barb Walker of Middletown. She is also survived by 3 Brothers: Cecil (Betty) Wooddell of Middletown, Jerl (Sondra) Wooddell of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Dale (Jan) Wooddell of Paola, Kansas. 5 grandchildren survive her: Andy, Evan, and Emily Luksic, Alicia (Greg) McGuire, and W. Joshua Walker. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren: Brooke, Bryan, and Brittney McGuire.

Her parents and a great-granddaughter Brenna McGuire preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday June 3, 2003 at Our Lady of SorrowsChurch in Monroe at 10am with Fr.Terry Meehan as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday June 2, 2003 from 6 to 8pm at the Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
