John W. Stitzel

John W. Stitzel, 64, of Middletown, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at LaFollette Medical Center in Tennessee . He was born in Hamilton on November 1, 1958 to parents, William C. and Nancy R. (Suplee) Stitzel.

John was a Class of 1977 graduate of Middletown High School, where he was on the swim team. He worked as a welder for Smithfield Foods. John loved the Smoky Mountains and spending time at the family cabin in Tennessee. He also enjoyed chasing Hot Air Balloons.

But most of all John loved his family and he will be greatly missed by his wife, Kathy L. (Marshall) Stitzel; daughter, Michelle (Cody) Hamilton; mother, Nancy Stitzel; sisters, Susan (Deb Estelle) Stitzel & Jennifer (Joel) Horne; mother-in-law, Dorothy Marshall; niece, Melissa Estelle; and many more loving family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Stitzel.

Funeral Service will be Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown with Pastor Jim Tinch, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
