John Butts

John J. “JB” Butts, 68, of Trenton, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Albany, New York on January 19, 1935 to parents Harold M. and Helen D. (Couser) Butts.

JB worked as a welder for AK Steel for 34 years, retiring in 1997. He served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 501. He enjoyed NASCAR, car shows, and was an avid fisherman.

JB is survived by his wife, Jane E. (Pembleton) Butts of Trenton; two daughters, Becki (Mark) Fields of Germantown and Marci Butts of Trenton; four stepdaughters, Karen Knapp of Columbus, Connie Binkley of Middletown, Lori Fite of Dayton, and Lynn Hawkins of Alabama; a stepson, Gregory Fite of Alaska; one grandchild, Clancey Butts; 12 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren, and numerous friends.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Kathy Engelhardt officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
