Joe E. Dixon

Joe E. Dixon, 88, of Middletown, died Sunday, February 18, 2007, at his home. He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on July 15, 1918 to the late Harper and Arah (Duggar) Dixon.

Mr. Dixon worked as a Hydro Pulper at Diamond International for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Before arriving in Middletown in 1958, he had worked in the coal mines of Kentucky. He was a member of Univesity Baptist Church, Middletown, for over 30 years and was a life member of the Eagles.

He is survived by a brother, Ben (Pauline) Dixon; three grandchildren, Deborah L. Miller, Doug (Julia) Johnson, and Kim (Bill) Music; and six great grandchildren, Danielle (Doug) Lyons, Ashley Miller, Samantha Miller, Cole Johnson, Brittanie Music, and Matthew Music.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred (Jones) Dixon in 1988; a daughter, Judy Hilton; his parents; 2 sisters, Delpha & Artha; and 3 brothers, Colver, Harrell, & Olen.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Reverend Neil McKinney officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
