Jim Kramer

James E. Kramer, 80, of Middletown, died Thursday, October 4, 2018. He was born in 1937 to parents Francis G. and Zelma (Wolf) Kramer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna; son, Michael; daughter, Karen; two granddaughters, Kayleigh & Emily; and sister, Sheila (Kramer) Lisella. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry.

Jim was a 1955 graduate of Fenwick High School, and the University of Dayton in 1959. He was employed by the United States Treasury Department as an Internal Revenue Agent for 33 years. He retired in 1995 while a manager in the Large Case Program. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Armed Forces in 1965, having served in the Army and the National Guard. He held a CPA license since 1968. He also worked for the State of Florida and with a CPA firm after retirement from the Federal Government.
Jim was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1610 and a life and charter member of the 4th Degree Assembly 2299. He served as financial secretary of Council 1610 and was the first Faithful Comptroller of Assembly 2299. He was also a member of Wildwood Golf Club. Jim belonged to Holy Family Parish, where he volunteered for many functions and committees including the consolidation of the three parish schools into John XXIII. He and his wife, Donna, chaired the Fenwick Festival in 1980 and 1981. He was treasurer of the Middletown Area Golf for Youth Council (MAGYC) and also volunteered as the first treasurer of the newly formed Hospice Care of Middletown and served on that board for five years.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 am at the church.
