Jerome A. Haass

Jerome Haass, 87, of Middletown died Saturday January 8, 2005 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born April 30, 1917 in Hamilton to parents Joseph and Cecelia (Stenger) Haass.

Jerry worked for Armco Steel and the Middletown US Post Office. Mr. Haass was a decorated Army veteran serving in WWII at Utah Beach. He was active in many community organizations including; Toast Masters, STARS, Kiwanis, Dayton SCORE, Ace Car Club, B.P.O.E. and the American Legion Post 218.

Mr. Haass is survived by his wife of 45 years Helen (Agin) Haass of Middletown, daughter Jennifer (Mark) Weaver of Cincinnati, son Craig Haass of Middletown, a sister Mary Kay DaRif of Washington Courthouse, sister-in-law Bonnie (Dr. Gary) Carothers, brother-in-law Jerry (Beverly) Agin, and sister-in-law Louise Agin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruby Lou (Condon) Haass, and his parents.

Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday January 12, 2005 at 11 am at Holy Family Parish-St. John’s Church with Fr. John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Tuesday January 11, 2005 from 5 to 8 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.). Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
