James D. Evans

Jim Evans, 71, of Madison Township, was called to glory Thursday, February 19, 2015, the day determined by his Heavenly Father. He was born in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania on July 9, 1943 to parents David Norman and Helen Mae (Kelley) Evans. He graduated from Penn State University in 1966 with a B.S. degree in Fuel Technology.

Jim worked as an engineer in Electrical Steel Research for Armco/AK Steel Corp for 36 years. He was an active & faithful member of New Covenant Church and was a founding board member of the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Middletown. He enjoyed playing golf and working at Weatherwax Golf Course in his retirement.

Jim was a loving & faithful husband of 48 ½ years to the love of his life, Judy (Bianco) Evans. He was father of Amy Sebastian, David (Tracy) Evans, Brian (Jennifer) Evans, Nancy (John) Blaylock & James (Marisa) Evans; and grandfather of 17 awesome grandchildren: Kinser, Noah, Kylie, Sidney, Elijah, Samuel, Kaitlin, Sophia, Cameron, Connor, Cooper, Carson, Carly, Parker, Lainey, Dane & Rowan!!

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by siblings: Donna (Bill) Doney, Sandy (Jim) Richards, Robert (Maureen) Evans, Edward (Debbie) Evans; brother-in-law, Phil (Jane) Bianco; and many beloved nieces & nephews.

A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm at New Covenant Church, 4340 Union Rd., Franklin with Pastor Claude Robold officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 3:00 - 4:00 pm as well as after the service.
