Dr. Robert Anderson Tennant

Dr. Robert A. Tennant, 81, of Middletown, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born in Longview, Washington on June 17, 1926 to parents Harry A. and Edith E. (McFarlin) Tennant.

Dr. Tennant came to Middletown in 1953, after being discharged from the United States Air Force, where he had practiced his medical specialty for two years. He retired from his Ear, Nose, & Throat practice in 1987, after serving in the community for thirty four years. He was at various times, secretary and president of the Butler County Medical Society and secretary and president of the Middletown Regional Hospital Medical Staff. Dr. Tennant was also a member of the AMA, OMA, Cincinnati ENT Society, and the American Council of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Tennant is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Patricia (Moen) Tennant; two daughters, Robin B. (Bruce) Tennant Stewart and Mary Anderson (Tom) Heckard, both of Franklin; a son, Robert D. Tennant of Middletown; and five grandchildren, Mary Fiona Stewart, Robert Bruce Stewart, Ian Anderson Tennant, and twins Christopher Lee Heckard and Hugh Anderson Heckard. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Nikki and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend Stan Gockel officiating.
