Donald L. Faris

Donald L. Faris, 74, of Monroe, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Farmersville, Ohio on June 29, 1938 to parents Leon and Gladys (Suggs) Faris.

Don worked as a police officer for the City of Monroe from 1972 - 1996, was an Eastern Region supervisor with Mobil Oil from 1965 - 1990 and was the operations manager of campus police for Miami Valley Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 2007. He served his country in the United States Army, was an honorary Texas Ranger and was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge in Monroe and Loyal Order of Moose #501 in Middletown.

Mr. Faris is survived by his wife, Billie (Egelston) Faris; children, Scott (Melanie) Faris, Bobbi (Heath) Wagner & Jeff (Carol) Faris; sisters, Sharon Smith & Chris Brumfield; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Jarrett & Jennifer Faris, Austin & Hunter Wagner, Scott (Dawna) Faris, Melissa (James) Carroll & Ryan (Pamela) Faris; 5 great grandchildren; special friends, Bones & Julie Gomia and his beloved dog, Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step mother, Hazel (Humbert) Faris.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Dude Evans officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
