Christine G. Young

Christine G. (Turner) Young, 85, of Middletown, died September 24, 2010 at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center. She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on November 20, 1924 to parents William Henry and Evalee (Taulbee) Turner.

Christine graduated from Dayton School of Practical Nursing in 1968 and worked many years as an LPN in several area nursing homes. She was a hard working, independent woman who believed in the importance of education and service to others. Chris had a strong faith and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Middletown. Never idle, she constantly crocheted many beautiful afghans, sweaters and table cloths which will always be cherished by her children. She was faithful to her Bible study and loved to read and keep up on current events. Other interests included vegetable & herb gardening. She loved to cook and was always experimenting with new recipes.

Christine is survived by her three children, Crystal (John) Sherron, James (Marya) Young & Robyn (Ross) Satriano. She was a wonderful, caring grandmother to ten grandchildren, Catherine (Randy) Bailey, John (Cathy) Sherron, Michael (Christel) Sherron, Shaia Young, Shayda Shams, Tammy (Kenneth) Schultz, Christine Satriano, Monica (Brent) Cathcart, Alana (Carlo) DiSalvo and Danielle (John) Nussbaum. She also leaves behind thirteen great grandchildren. Two siblings survive her, Lucy (Gordon) Nelson and Mary Porter

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Young in 1962; parents; two brothers; two sisters; one half-brother; and two half-sisters.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 27, 2010 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Dean Penrod officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
