Charles R. Myers

Charles R. "Chog" Myers, 78, of Middletown, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at McKnight Terrace. He was born in Middletown, on August 5, 1929 to John and Corene (Knorr) Myers.

Charles worked for Armco Steel Corp for 34 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars #3809, American Legion Post 218, Disabled American Veterans #131, Middletown Senior Citizens Center, and the Peanuts Volleyball Team.
Mr. Myers is survived by three daughters, Barbara L. (Paul) Nicholas, Beth A. (Joe) Hayes, and Brenda L. (Tim) Ochoa; four sons, John D. Myers, William E. (Cheryl) Myers, Charles R. Myers, and Tracy A. Myers; a sister, Charlotte Byrnes; cousin, Bill Myers; lifelong friend, Virgil "Tub" Sorrell; his pride & joy, 15 grandchildren, Christy (Tom) Hawkins, Benjamin (Jackie) Nicholas, Marylln (Dean) McGaha, Christopher Shieder, Jennifer (Tony) Torres, Laura Chiaramonte, Kristen Chiaramonte, Maggie Ochoa, Leah (Nick) Barnett, Alicia Myers, Katie Jacobs, Stefanie Myers, Lyndsey Myers, Jonathan Myers, and Jessica Myers; the lights of his life, 8 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Vaughan, Cohen, Nick, Jeremy, Anthony, Mason, & Lanie; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John "Junior" Myers; and sisters, Audrey Myers and Mary "Pat" Myers.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to everyone at McKnight Terrace for their loving care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Ave., with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will follow at Holy Family Parish Center.
