Carl E. Sorrell

Carl E. Sorrell, 72, of Middletown, died Friday, August 19, 2005, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on April 25, 1933 to parents Troy Edgar and Anna Elizabeth (Cecil) Sorrell.

Mr. Sorrell worked as a machinist for General Motors-Delco Moraine for 28 years, retiring in 1998. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Carl is survived by his wife, Martha O. (Wells) Sorrell of Middletown; three children, Debbie (Ted) Parrella of West Middletown, Linda (Ray) Brown of Middletown, and Carl Edward (Debbie) Sorrell Jr. of Middletown; four grandchildren, Daniel (Donna) Grindle of Toledo, Stephanie (Brandy Delaney) Brown of West Elkton, Ashley (fiance Darrin Fields) of Middletown, and Ted (Heather) Parrella of Hamilton; four great grandchildren, Brittany Jo Grindle of Toledo, Darrin Allen Fields Jr. of Middletown, Cameron Parrella of Hamilton, and Austin Hamblin of Hamilton; brothers and sisters, Ruth Ann Lovelace of Frenchburg, KY, Shirley Roberts of Moorehead, KY, Juanita Howard of Scranton, KY, Ruby Patrick of Scranton, KY, Amy Lawson of Middletown, OH, Harley Sorrell of Daytona Beach, FL, Earl Sorrell of Scranton, KY, and Winford Sorrell of Middletown, OH; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Norma Jean Sorrell and Rita Faye Sorrell Helton; and brother Hershel Sorrell.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), with Reverend Randy Wallace officiating. Visitation will be Monday, from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors presented by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
