C. Walter Beattie

C. Walter Beattie, 92, formerly of Monroe, died on June 21, 2006, in Warrenton, Virginia. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia on November 11, 1913 to parents Charles Walter and Ada (Butler) Beattie.

Mr. Beattie was a 1937 graduate of the University of Illinois. He worked as a metallurgical engineer for Armco Steel Corporation, retiring in 1977 after 40 years of service. He attended Holy Family Parish, was a member of American Standards Testing Materials, and former member and board member of Wildwood County Club.

C. Walter is survived by his daughter, Jinnie (Chuck) Raney of Amissville, VA; son, Chuck (Paula) Beattie of Oriental, NC; and Grandson, Mark Beattie of Brooklyn, NY.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Rose (Hubacek) Beattie in 2002; his parents; and 3 brothers.

Graveside Service will be held Monday, June 26, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Butler County Memorial Park with Monsignor Paul Metzger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Life Care Fund, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, OH 45050.
