Bonnie L. Scott

April 28, 1938 — November 1, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bonita “Bonnie” Louise Scott on November 01, 2018. She was laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in a private family service. Bonnie will be remembered by her family and friends as a beautiful, smart and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Bonnie was born in Cincinnati on April 28, 1938 to William and Mildred Garrison. She grew up in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky and attended Beechwood K-12 where she graduated Valedictorian. At a young age she showed her courage when she made the boys varsity golf team at a time when girls rarely had the opportunity to participate in sports. In 1960 she earned her Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Cincinnati and was a Kappa Kappa Gamma.

In 1957 she married Dr. William Thomas Scott and in 1960 they moved to Bad Kreznach, Germany where Tom was stationed and where their son, Brad was born. They spent weekends traveling instilling a love of adventure that brought them back to Europe several times. On returning to the states, they had her daughter Kim and in 1966 moved to Middletown where their daughter Gwen was born and where they raised their three children.
Bonnie was involved in the local PEO chapter, Current Events, First Presbyterian Church, Blue Ribbon Schools and a tutor for the adult literacy program. Bonnie taught nursing at MUM and saw lipid patients.

Bonnie is survived by her devoted husband Dr. Tom Scott of Middletown; son Brad Scott of Kauai; daughter Kim Scott and her fiancé Fletcher Andrews; granddaughter Sophia Thomas all of Seattle; her daughter Gwen Scott and family friend Corinne Kerr also of Seattle; her brother William Garrison of Beavercreek and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Gary Garrison of Louisville.

The family wishes to thank Bickford Senior Living the hospice nurses and the many devoted friends who provided loving care to Bonnie in her final years.

Donations to Hospice Care of Middletown in Bonnie’s name in lieu of flowers are welcome (3909 Central Ave Middletown, Ohio 45044).
