Bobby “Grigs” Grigsby 67, of Middletown, went to be with the Lord early Friday morning at his home in Madison Twp. A native of West Liberty, Ky., Bob was born and raised in the hills of eastern Kentucky. Making his way as a young man as a mechanic and factory worker. He received his Degrees from Morehead State Univ. and St. Xavier Univ. both in education. Starting as a teacher touching students in the classroom he was quickly on his way up the ladder, culminating as superintendent of Carlisle Local School. With his love for education Bob strived to make the education and transportation systems in the state safe, prosperous and focused on students. Upon his retiring, Bobby kept in the education arena by serving both the Warren County Career Center and Kings Local Schools as an administrator. “Grigs” to many, was the model of hard work making greatness. As a husband, father and friend. He was the common guy who made his own way and was respected by all for it.
He will be strongly missed by his wife Anna Lee, son Henry Joe (wife Kristin), son James Franklin (wife Jill), granddaughter Miranda Ann, and by his many friends, co-workers, and fellow car enthusiasts.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother Mattie Louise Conley Grigsby, and grandparents Frank and Virgie Conley.
Local visitation will be Monday January 29, 2007 from 5-8 PM at the Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.)
Additional visitation will be Tuesday January 30 from 6-8 PM at Potter Funeral Home 329 Glenn Ave. West Liberty, Ky. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00PM at Potter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery in West Liberty, Ky.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
