Betty L. Simpson

Betty L. (Murphy) Simpson, 85, of Middletown, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Close To Home Assisted Living. She was born in Angola, Indiana on February 1, 1924 to parents Russell and Ora (Halsey) Murphy.

Betty worked as a clerk and assistant office manager for Armco Steel Corporation and then Montgomery Wards, retiring in 1976. She was a member of First Christian Church, member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a Past Mother Advisor and Advisory Board Member for Rainbow Girls.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by her husband of 65 years, Earl Simpson; son, David (Billee) Simpson; daughters, Linda Nerenberg and Nancy Simpson; six grandchildren, Joshua (Sandy) Nerenberg, Jason (Kristen) Nerenberg, Jared Nerenberg, Ryan (Chad) Rothermel, Rachel Simpson and J.B. Simpson; and six great grandchildren, Brittney, Brendon, A.J., Cameron, Radical & Solomon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Murphy; and sisters, Mildred Blossom, Dorthea Reffitt-Evans and Juanita Class.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd, Middletown, with Reverend Cleta Rider officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 NOON – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
