Arthur William Bidwell Iii

Arthur William Bidwell, III, 70, of Middletown, died on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Christ Hospital. He was born in Flushing, New York on April 7, 1952.

Art had worked as a vice president of marketing in the aluminum industry, retiring in 2015. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves and was a 1974 graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. Art had a quick wit and a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. If anyone came to him with an idea, "he invented it". He took great pride in giving everyone he loved a nickname and enjoyed making up games to tease his grandkids. Art was a prolific reader and enjoyed watching tv shows and movies, often quoting lines and ruining the endings. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, Xavier and Notre Dame. Along with his birthday, Art considered the Reds opening day a national holiday.

Art had a strong faith and loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Susan (Clark) Bidwell; daughters, Elizabeth (Jay) Hansen, Ann (Scott) Laber & Bridget (Joe) Kikta; son, Arthur William (Kerima) Bidwell IV; father, Arthur William Bidwell Jr.; brothers, John (Shelley) Bidwell, Martin (Mary) Bidwell, Joseph (Carol) Bidwell & Father Michael Bidwell; sisters, Marianne Walter, & Kathleen Gramke; grandchildren, Gracie Hansen, Tyler Hansen, Brady Laber, Abby Laber, Henry Kikta, Lil Kikta & Tierney Bidwell; and many other family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann (Farrell) Bidwell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark St., Middletown, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum.
