Andrew Lamar Duell

Andrew Lamar Duell, 42, of Union, KY, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 29, 1976 to parents Richard L. and Elizabeth Lee (Ahern) Duell.

Andrew was a free spirit and loyal friend. He attended John XXIII Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School in 1994. Andrew participated in baseball, football, band and the GATE (Gifted And Talented Enrichment) program. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served with pride until his honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant. Semper Fi!

Andrew was an artist, a craftsman and a seeker of good times and thrills. He loved to skydive, fish, golf, repair and ride motorcycles, cook, play games and brew craft beer. At the time of his death he was employed as a service technician with Kadant Johnson. He enjoyed his work, his colleagues and traveling the country for his job.

Andrew will be remembered for his smile, his warmth, his love of family and friends, and for his loyalty. He believed in sincerity and put his personal touch on all his work. He will be missed and remembered.

Mr. Duell is survived by his father, Richard L. Duell; brother, Eric (Fabricia) Duell; niece, Julia Duell and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Louisiana, Texas and Missouri.

Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth “Beth” Duell.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:30 am at Church of The Ascension, 2709 McGee Ave., Middletown with Father Thomas Fehr officiating and military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. A private interment will be at Church of The Ascension Scattering Garden.
