Adam C. Sohn, 90, of Germantown, Ohio, died Thursday, November 6, 2003, at the home of his daughter. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on June 18, 1913 to parents Carl Ludwig and Blanche (Brate) Sohn.
Adam began work for Armco Steel Corp. in 1933, becoming foreman in 1956 and retiring from that position in 1978, after 45 years of service. He was a gifted carpenter and wood worker. While living at Lake Lorelei in Fayetteville, OH, he reconstructed the water wheel at the front entrance, getting it once again, fully operational. He was a member of Franklin First United Methodist Church.
Adam is survived by one daughter: Nancy (Dick) Osborne of Germantown, OH.; seven grandchildren, Mike (Jamie) Osborne, Melodie (Rusty) Rickard, Rebecca McIntosh, Deanna (Brian) Bush, Terri (Marty) Mulhall, Christy (Ron) Olson, and Pat (Lance) Lovely; 16 great grandchildren; Mary Ellyn Sohn; a brother-in-law, Wallace “Hop”(Rubie) Blevins; a sister-in-law, Estelle McDonald; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Edith T. (Blevins) Sohn; his parents; a son, Don Adam Sohn; a daughter, Judith Ann Sohn; and two grandchildren, Cheryl Elizabeth Osborne and Jason Sohn.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 10, 2003 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Diann O’Bryant officiating. Visitation will be Monday, prior to the service from 11:30 – 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery.
