Warren Bennett Jones

Warren "Ben" Jones, 75, of Morristown, Tn.(formerly of Middletown), died Fri., Mar. 14, 2003 at his residence. Warren was born in Covington , Ky. on July 18, 1927 the son of Simon Leslie and Mildred (Weishaar) Jones. He grew up in Middletown and later graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Oh.
Warren later served in World War II with the United States Army in North Africa, and was an Army Instructor during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army he moved to Palatine, Ill.. He married Louise Andrick on Oct. 19, 1958 and they lived in Palatine for 32 years.
While living in Palatine he began working for Kemper Insurance Company at there home office. Warren worked in Auto Underwriting, Personnel, Agency Production, Sales promotions, and was Director of the Auto Club Division during his 40 plus years at Kemper Insurance. He is also a former member of the Board of Governors of the Kemper Men’s Club.
He served 10 years as a Trustee of Palatine Township, was former President of the Palatine Township Republican Club, and for many years was a Republican Precinct Captain in Illinois.
Warren was the former National Director and Illinois State President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, former Vice President of the Uptown Chicago Commission, former member of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Toastmasters, Citizens of Greater Chicago, American Mutual Alliance (trade association), and Junior Achievement. Warren was also active in both the Illinois State and Cook County Young Republicans.
Warren and Louise later moved to Morristown, Tn., in Jan. of 1998, where he was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Louise (Andrick) Jones; a son, Leslie B. Jones of Chicago, a daughter, Jennifer Jones (Carey) Clark of Talbott, Tn.; two sisters, Elinor (James) Harris of Middletown and Carolyn (Robert) Garnett of Hamilton; a brother, Donald (Barbara) Jones of Marietta, Oh.; and many nieces and nephews.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 1:00p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita , with Rev. Nolan Phillips officiating. Entombment will be at Woodside Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by, American Legion Post 218. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from Noon to 1:00p.m. at the funeral home.
