Pauline Derek Jackson

Pauline Derek Jackson, 80, of Middletown, Ohio went to be with our Lord on Christmas evening after a wonderful day of celebration with her family. Pauline was born on February 21, 1932 in Latrobe, PA to John and Catherine Derek. She was raised in Latrobe, PA along with her 2 brothers and 7 sisters.

In 1954, she married the love of her life, C. Robert Jackson of Baden, PA. C. Robert and Pauline moved initially to Baden, PA and then to Economy Borough, PA where they lived with their 6 children until moving to Middletown, OH in 1977. She was a professional mother and homemaker supporting C. Robert's 35 year career with AK Steel and raising their 6 children. Her passions included education and she made sure each of her 6 children obtained college degrees. She decided to also obtain a college degree from Miami University while she was in her 50's. She was actually in a few classes with her children, Diane and Doug. She also was a devout Catholic her entire life.

Pauline is survived by her 5 children: Patrick Jackson (Deborah), Paula Jackson, Diane Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Gary Jackson (Annie), and 8 grandchildren: Jillian, Brittany, Cate, Cori, Jack, Drew, Luke, and Kellie. She is also survived by her sisters Rita, Cecilia, Jeanie, and brother Jeff. She was preceded in death by her husband C. Robert (2010) and son Douglas (2004).

Her family and community will truly miss Pauline. Her spirit will remain in all our hearts always. No one will ever forget her "unique laugh" and…. how she had the desire and ability to make everyone she met feel special and welcome.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery
